I can't really say anything bad about Vengerov, but I will say this:
Nobody plays this piece better than Perlman.

Vengerov is a great violinist and musician, he doesn't deserve this criticism. I do agree that I would much rather listen to him play showpieces rather than the Beethoven concerto, but let's see you all do a better job, eh?

I also think that the recording lacks, what one would call "Spielwitz" in German... the orchestral parts are great though
