My fathers clan & mothers fled from oklahoma to Arkansas now called Ouachita national forrest where they lived old ways till around 1950, I visited there a few years later, much hardship they endured but never complained taught us tsalagi way. They are gone now and I am old but still long for peace of heart in these matters.

I believe we can find peace by educating the world about the truth.  Not what everyone sees in old westerns and movies showing all Natives as being savages. All over the world, people are taking notice and admire and respect the wisdom of our elders and Indian ways.

I know your history even though I live in the UK and sadly your politicians are sweeping this under the carpet.

I know it still hurts, but please learn to forgive and you have the right not to forget...and make sure "they" do not forget!

I have forgiven, but for my grandmother's memory, I can never forget. I don't blame Spain, Briton, or France for anything their ancestors did hundreds of years ago. Cherokee people are more fortunate than some other Indian tribes such as Lakota, Hopi, Navajo. I blame our own government for their continued greed for their reservation lands and for all the broken treaties and promises. Watch Russell Means vids here on youtube.

wow i am reading in the comments and a lot of people don't know this information. i am shocked they must have removed this from the public schools i am only 23 but when i was in 10th grade i was taught all of this.

This breaks my heart, i am hispanic, born in new mexico, i have native friends from different tribes, apache, navajo, and others. I have blue eyes and light skin but i have a spanish last name . I speak spanish and english but i hate what happened to the natives, natives should run this country instead of the white devil. They would have made this country a much better place. One with the earth. No money needed, just natural resources is all they needed, its all we need too but we were born in

Wow amazing information. I have always been interested in American history when it deals with the indians. if only they knew what would happen beforehand. tribes were enemies and the government used that to their advantage.
