Seriously though:

1)Hole doesn't have the instrumentals to fit her squeaky voice. Courtney suits it best.

2)Melissa was an addition to Hole..she's not the original bassist, so it'd be crazy to change vocalists. That's like a WHOLE new band.

3)If Melissa wanted to sing alone so bad,she would start her own band,which she did: Auf der Maur

She must've been HONORED to be in a band w/Courtney.

i agree with adriennewentz, melissa has a beautiful voice, but courtneys voice is HOLE, and i think mel and courts voices blend beautifully together, melissa is perfect to backup the sound of courtneys voice.

Adriennewentz is right on the money. Melissa has a beautiful and melodic singing voice, but it's way too soft and mousy to be the lead vocals and can't be anyway if paired with Courtney who would just automatically dominate it anyway because her voice is so much heavier. But...It IS absolutely perfection harmonized with Courtney's intense growls and it'd be awesome if they used her a little more.
