Time to get busy with your extended pantry folks, if you haven't already. I used to disdain the whole
coupon thing -- what a bother. Well. . . . I've come to love those little slips of precious paper as they are helping to keep more of the green slips of paper in my wallet. In this video, I show how shopping a store's loss leaders almost exclusively coupled with using coupons can save you big bucks at the check out. It takes a bit of time, but to save about $100 each time I go grocery shopping, I can spend an hour of my time matching sales to coupons and planning my menu accordingly.

  • I would love to know the name and artist of the song at the end. I love it! Anyone know? Thanks.

  • @janealice1 It's Charlie Sutton, album "Milk Man;s Son", song is "Sugarbowl". Link to purchasing from CDbaby website in more info. box. Glad you liked it.

  • The catalina's that come out of the registar are MANUFACTOR coupons NOT store coupons.

  • @jesus375 -- It probably depends on the store. What comes out of our store's register are store coupons -- they have the store's name imprinted on them and you can only redeem them at one of the stores in the same chain.

  • I have also started doing this for some items to stock up in case of an emergency.

I am also starting a small garden Lord willing this weekend. I need to get some of the big strong guys from my church to take some old plants out 1st.

So you can food? If so please do some video's on that. You have inspired me with this site. TY : )

  • @TheMoonlightFever -- I have a canning chicken video on youtube that seems to be quite popular. Also, I have a couple of "introduction to canning" videos for the beginner to familiarize them with the equipment. For more canning videos, check out what Kim does on Homesteadacres channel. I may try to do more canning videos this summer -- it seems when I'm canning, there are 40 other things going on and it's hard to get a nice video without interruptions, intrusive noises, etc.!

  • nicely done

  • Really good advice, thanks. Also, I have many friends that take advantage of pharmacy store sales (CVS, Walgreens, etc) and they save tons of money. I'm currently overseas with my husband and can't take advantage of it, but you better believe I'm jumping into it as soon as I get home.

  • Some coupons that print out are MANUFACTOR coupons and those you can not combine with another Manufactor coupon. I go to Stop and Shop and they print out store coupons as well They say STORE coupon on the top those are the ones that you can combine with Manufactor coupons. And those rules are put there by the Manufactor not the store. But its all good we all need to save : )

  • I find coupons to be a lousy deal when compared to store brands. Also, most coupons seem to be for processed foods I do not use. I agree about shopping "loss leader" sales, but to really save money, it is much cheaper to by ingredients over processed foods. I also work outside the home (I am a teacher). For my family, the crock pot is how we handle days when I am too busy to cook. I also prepare meals in advance and freeze them. Meatloaf, lasagna, and quiche are easy to prep and freeze.
