""The translation of the original Japanese poem (below) by Tsuneo Akaha""
Now, sadness is pouring into us.
We have suffered and we have lost, and our tears have dried up.
The scenes we saw yesterday are no longer.
We call out the names of our loved ones until we are hoarse.
We hold on to the promises.
The promises that have yet to be realized.
We grit our teeth and live for the day.
Now we stand here on the edge of the world.
Pushing aside the rubble, with an eye toward the future.
Not to let the warmth that remains in our body dissipate.
With a redrawn map in our hands, we walk forward hand-in-hand.
