I think your fingering of the main riff is sub-optimal. If you use pinky for 2nd string in the first shape (regular D) and then ringfinger for the C-bass note, and then index finger for B-bass, you'll end up with a smoother sequence, with less finger/hand movement.

Mark would you recommend to a finger picking beginner (like me) to get some of those things your wearing on yer fingers or would you advise I learn first without them ? Everytime I see you fingerpicking Beatles songs it is such a great sound and I need to learn it as at the moment I just strum songs.

@DamianSix66 Hi Damian, good question, I learned with my fingers first, and then I got the plastic fingerpicks. It took me about a month of practicing with them every day to get used to them.
