The music isn't "medieval" but it CAPTURES the feel of that time. I can't imagine the film without the music - but I can enjoy the music without the film. That says something about it!

This music too me, was from an era when movie music had so much more character. I enjoy some of the modern soundtracks...but this sonic collage worked such a miracle as a back drop for one of the greatest movies ever made...

The best medieval score composed ever!!!!

I remember how this soundtrack fixated me when I was young. "Eleanor's Arrival" was the most haunting track on the record. It's a wee bit slow in this concert, though. Look for it on Youtube right from the movie and your will see.

So sorry to learn that Mr. Barry passed away today at the age of 77. His music will most certainly endure!

RIP John Barry. Your beautiful music will live for ever.

Far too fast.

@alexko1164825 Yes we will have to make do I'm afraid, pity John was'nt conducting bless him :-)

Not as good as the original because I don't like the changes the arranger/conductor made, but it's technically executed well - all good musicians. Still a great suite.

what is the name of this song and who composed it??

It is the suite to the film 'The Lion In Winter', made up from three seperate cues, 'Main Title', Chinon / Eleanore's Arrival' and 'We're All Jungle Creatures'.
Composed by John Barry and available if you search hard on cd Legacy/Columbia CK 66133. Steer clear of inferior Nic Raine issue.
