European Effect In Short
The project entitled "European Effect In Short" is a multilateral youth exchange implemented under Action 1.1 of the Youth in Action Programme. The project aims to bring together 32 youngsters between the ages 16-25, from Estonia, Romania, Poland, Hungary and Turkey on the topic of national identity and European citizenship. The venue of the main activity, which is planned to happen on October 1-10 2010, is Düzce County in Turkey.
In this project we aim to emphasize European citizenship and European effects on societies. In this case, we will point some main topics such as human rights, discriminations, poverties, global challenges, democracy, European entrepreneurship and young unemployment, millennium development goals and diversity in unity via short movies. The main activity of the project will be making creative short movies about such topics. Additionally, the project aims to make youngsters build their own European citizenship and to show how they imagine Europe in the future as they are the future of Europe. We plan to use non-formal education methods focusing on media instruments, depending on youngsters' needs and interests, as the main working tools of the project. Using media instruments will not only be efficient tools of expressing ideas and thoughts about such topics, but also will be good for disseminating results and for raising awareness towards both the project and the Youth in Action Programme.
In the activity period, the participants will be separated into 5 groups to work efficiently. Each group will have a main topic which has several subtopics to work on. Apart from the different groups, the project also aims to create a whole group dynamics with creative workshops, cultural debates and simulations on the topics mentioned above. In the Activity period, participants will also be attending ice breaking games, whole group workshops, conferences and trainings on the topic of European citizenship.
