Something worth mentioning, the late Herman Chaney was the lead singer of the Jaguars and came from a stable of good singers. Don Julian, Ronald Barrett, and Randy Jones of the Larks, Fanita James (Ronald Barrett's sister) and Gloria Jones of the Blossoms all had similar training and were good friends. The late Jessie Belvin, who started the Penguines, was also friends with this unique group of talent.

Besides making some great music, the Jaguars were also significant for being one of the first racially integrated vocal groups to come out of the west coast. Regardlessof their race or ethnicity they just made some great music together.
