@BlackVoicesOnFilm It's a TV show. If you want to pick it apart logically rather than just enjoy the comedy and the good writing:
(1). George would have fired Florence probably the first week. No way a boss and his employee insult each other left and right all the time.
(2). George wasn't smart enough that he could have successfully built a small dry-cleaning empire. He's a funny idiot, but he's still basically an idiot.
Get the picture?

One thing I never understood was Louise having a maid. I mean, Louise didn't work and the apartment only had 2 bedrooms. Why a maid when you only have a small 2 bedroom apartment to clean and you don't work? I guess Marla Gibbs was added for more comedy.

Wow u youngsters make a dude feel old. I remember when these episodes aired. Glad they have found a younger appreciation. Great comedy, acting, and moral story those shows had back then.
