Technically a wizard, no escaping that, I've tried to rip some of his licks,(which I and most can't do in regard to sheer speed) but even a committed guitarist for 25 years like me gets bored from endless "look how fast I can play" scales and runs. But I'll always be a fan and give him his due, his influence is at least on par with VanHalen and others, and spawned the neoclassical genre.Yes, the staccato with the pick and classical guitar is just too harsh in this setting, and loses musicality.

he must have been really bored in Sweden that he exercised his heart out! :)

The thing about Yngwie, and why I stopped listening to him is that he's all flash. Lightning arpeggios and scales only take the music so far, and he lacks in the "feeling" department. If he were a classical trained guitarist, he'd know that using a pick, while great for rock, saps the life out of classical guitar. (he also wouldn't be using an Ovation, but I digress...)There's guitarists out there that can squeeze more feeling and expression out of a single note than he can in an entire song.

@Gibbyginge Try AmazonUk.Com they have a complete selection of Yngwie's Discography. I Hope that helps let me know if it works out.

That's amazing....

Did Malmsteen just take a bunch of titles for classical dance movements and forms without bothering to have a clue what any of them were supposed to sound like?
