Whether or not the footwork or technique was perfect, the dance elicited an almost visceral reaction. For me at least it evoked an almost abusive relationship, with Christina the women fighting to get away but constantly drawn back in by this charming, smooth man with aggression bubbling just under the surface. Even now I get the same reaction every time I watch it. It was simply an awesome dance.

They should of won.. I love Kristina's choreography AND choice of music. The footwork is amazing!

The important things are passion, embrace and emotion. The movements will be depended on the music. And it's seen on this video. Maybe Kristina made the choreographs because this type of the song. Len Goodman is the professional dancer here. And if he said it's the best that means this is really the right dance with the right music and the right choreographs. Sorry but the video you showed me only showed the movements and embrace no intense emotions there.

it's argentine tango, another type of ballroom dance. there's another video of tango and it's very different.

Must be a bit galling to all the techno-philes that so many people have said what a fantastic dance they think this was when it wasn't technically perfect. For me it was such an emotional performance I think it just got me in the gut when I watched it, really visceral. I make no apology when I say technique shmechnique yada yada yada.... I really don't care, sooo exciting to watch, eyewateringly good!!
