This is the kind of music we kids used to ridicule back in the '80s. Well... last month i took my retired parents to a resort for the weekend - 65 year old Elkie Brooks was the evening entertainment. I had no idea what to expect but was a bit sceptical (a burned-out former star maybe?). Guess what? She was brilliant. Highly engaging, incredible powerful voice and ace backing band. An excellent 1hr set. I was stunned! 2010 is Elkie's 50th year in the music business. Respect is due!

lf you think this is good,check out her 2006 version...outstanding. She never sang it better,and she was l think 61 then. Elkie's looks might not be what they once were but the voice just seems to get better with the years.
