  • Hi John

I really dig your vids. It's so great of you to share some of your experiences and experiments.

BTW Roland Kirk was great at circular breathing (as with everything else he did).

  • @SiBJazzNSounds - Thank you! I'm glad you're finding these vids useful. Circular breathing is new to me and I hope to be good at it within a year or so. We'll see. Best wishes - John

  • Check this out - circular breathing on BASS SAX!! YouTube search: Colin Stetson | A Take Away Show | Part 1

  • While watching this I realized I have a terrible habit of relying on my wrist for the octave key. Something else to work on!

  • Slightly softer reeds help with circular breathing.

  • @zzajbird Harry Carney used to circular breath on bari as well.

Search for Harry Carney with Ellington playing "Sophisticated Lady".

  • james carter seems to do it on baritone on round midnight (first track of the record a real quiet storm)...check it out:)
