3:34 "...overall, the Coyote is our friend and not our enemy and not going to go around killing our children but we do have to be careful..." Our friend? Wow...Okay, I get it that attacks on humans are rare. But it's not because the Coyotes are our "friends"...it's because Coyotes are small. If much larger they'd take us out in a heartbeat. They kill our small pets and lure our larger pets to be attacked by several Coyotes and they attack weak humans such as small children and folk singers.

@DEBRACRANFORD What I wanted to say is that even though I dont have a dog yet (too nervous to lose one to the coyotes) I still limit going outside after dusk. They still make me nervous with their nightly howling and the paw and nose prints on the windows but I am not as scared as I was when I first moved here.

@DEBRACRANFORD Just an update for me. I still don't have a dog...the coyote population has exploded here. They still come to my windows and even with a crowd of people sitting on my back deck they will surround the house and howl to each other. I have a good friend that trains dogs for search and rescue in the hills in northern california where there are plenty of coyotes. She recorded them here because she had never seen so many in one area.

I hate how these shows emphasize fear and make them look more vicious, evil, and scary than they really are. It's nature, we've overlapped it, conflicts happen - doesn't mean the coyote should be vilified in the same archaic fashion that wolves have been for centuries, leading to their extirpation in many regions. Sad.

i got woke up by a pack, it scared me.

in the last 500 yrs four people have been killed by coyote or wolf, in North America.. twenty people per YEAR are killed by domestic pet dogs..These wolf attacks were either rabid or human habituated animals used to getting food from humans.

i hear them right now outside my house in the woods, they really are scary. i feel like there right next to me. creepy

Where I live in sc, we've seen them as big as German Shepards, pretty scary when they're howling in a pack 50 yards from u at night

@commonman80 I've been stalked walking with a buddy. They surrounded us in the trees making noise. We went back to back and growled at them refusing to run like prey and they ditched the idea of ambushing us. Their instincts keep them alive and running triggers them. Coyotes are only dangerous when extremely hungry, Your walking alone at night in the woods with no one to watch your back, if you run like a dumbass, or if your small enough for them to consider attacking. They are verysmart animals
Coyotes are as much as "our friends" as my .204 is a coyote's bestfriend!
