Namine takes center role as a foresaken girl who has been left out in the cold. The gates of her lord are shut and this young woman is left to the cruelty of the elements. This version of "The Lass of Aughrim" was performed by the Merry Wives of Windsor. This was a moving song from their album "Happily Ever After." I hope you enjoy this piece.

  • I like it. It's sad, and a little haunting.

  • I take it Lord Gregory is the father of her babe and thus he cannot let her in.

  • @bloodydager Quite correct, bloodydager. But I was running out of my 500 character allotment so had to shorten it a bit to get the point across, heh.

  • Very haunting and melancholy piece. Poor Namine. :(

  • she was told that lord Gregory was in Scotland to find a new bride and that she should kill her self

  • Depressing, haunting, and heart wrenching, dammit man you do play my heartstrings well!

  • The song is actually quite long. I did a little research and here is the Reader's Digest synopsis.

Lord Gregory was not a scumbag. He loved the girl. Unfortunately when she came to his house she was met by his Mother (and in one version his sister as well), who told the Lass a lie. They said he was away at sea and she should leave the babe and throw herself into the sea, which she did. Gregory comes home, finds out what they did, throws them out of the house and dies of heartbreak.

  • Really like this version, it is to short, I want this song to go on much longer. the sadness is so beautifull. As are the drawings!

  • Difficult to say what is "better": song or vid ... :)

  • You should do some more MWOW Stuff. It's just awesome.

  • ...she died.

  • Is this really the whole song? It's beautiful and heartwrenching, but it doesn't really end. Very nice drawings though.
