Martin Yan shows us how to make fried rice in the Sanyo ECJ F50S 5-cup rice cooker. Both a rice cooker and a steamer, this versatile piece of kitchen equipment has a non-stick interior that retains the heat so that rice can be kept warm and at an even temperature for hours. It's easy to clean and store. Interview at the 2009 International Home and Housewares Show by Georgia Downard.

  • I like Martin.

  • I miss your show Mr. Yan. "Yan Can Cook" made me so interested in learning how to cook when I was younger :D.

  • Its an amazing.

  • @metaspherz : I've had the Sanyo ECJ-F505 rice cooker for several years and use it all of the time. Never had a problem with it and it makes perfect rice every time. No worry about scalding the rice and baby sitting the pot. And when the rice is done it goes into *warm* mode and keeps the rice warm without burning it. This is one of the best and most useful kitchen appliances I've ever owned.

  • wheres the soft relaxing music

  • Martin, thaniks for your demo. You sold me on Sanyo with its 3mm titanium coated pot. I just bought (ordered on-line) the newer HC100s with fuzzy logic, 10 cups capacity and a few extra features as well like an extra pot and lid for slow cooking and the tofu tray. Oh, and it comes with a few of your recipes too. :)

  • @karitsu it made me laugh alot hell when i was younger .

  • I love this rice cooker. It has features that others twice the cost don't. But the steamer tray is too shallow. Great if all you want is steamed eggs, artichokes, other tall veggies, lobster & roasts. I'd like to see a deep(er) basket too. I'll buy it just the way it is and try to make due. I like to steam & cook rice together. However, I'm sure that I can fashion some sort of heat resistent support to lift the steamer tray.

  • I remember that show with Yan. I loved it. Been eating a lot of sushi lately and I wanted a rice cooker that was as easy as a pressure cooker but simpler to clean. Thanks.

  • @willyham72 it is a healthier version of fried rice. You dont need to add loads of oil into it and its better this way.
