  • @valdezmiguel2 weight gain is a side effect of her medication, there is nothing she can do about it. Try a little understanding and you might find your life a little more useful.

  • I think you're brave for posting this video.

    Keep it up!

And don't listen to the assholes who bash you!

  • Thank you so much for having the courage to share your personal experience with schizophrenia, the mental health field, and society in general. As someone who has just finished a master's degree in mental health counseling and beginning a new career in private practice as a therapist, I wish you all the best with your academic and occupational endeavors. From what I can see here, you'll be very genuine and empathetic with your clients, having much personal experience to draw from. Best wishes!

  • I think its VERY important for people with EXPERIENCE with certain "mental disorders" to be in the psychology feild. Brings more awareness to areas that need education!! like u said. Nice video

  • whether this woman is schizo or an "attention whore", she still has a mental disorder and is reaching out to the world for empathy. i have too little faith in the online community to go and do that myself, so kudos, lady, for the balls. i hope you get what you're looking for out of this! looks like, if nothing else, a pretty massive viewership and response!

  • There are so many misconceptions amoung many diseases, yet mental illness is one of the most misconceived illness because of the stigma attatched to it. And yes those anti-psychotic drugs contribute to weight gain, it a pain to gain. Good positive video. Have you heard of Dilectal Behavioral Therapy? It's a great therapy for any diagnosis of mental illness.

  • Great video. I'm happy that you're having a positive response with your mental health treatment. You do appear very composed and lucid (and no obvious twitches). It seems that many people end up with horrid side effects like akathisia or tardive dyskinesia. There is often a great price to be paid for the therapeutic benefits of these drugs.

Also, there are many high functioning schizophrenics. One of my managers was schizophrenic, on medications, and in remission for 1.5 years. Good luck

  • very nice video was scrolling along and looking for childhood schozophrenia but this was nice too :)

  • Omfg im tired of ppl calling her fat and stuff. you should really be kicked off of youtube and have your ip adress banned from ever making one.

  • Good video. You really dispel some of the myths surrounding schizophrenia. Good for you!

  • I know a Schizophrenic who acts completely normal when he's not having symptoms. Some people can hide things or are just normal sometimes even if they have a psych disorder. The only people who are stupid and uneducated are the "haters"...and it looks like you got 19 of them right now! Thank goodness you got many more supporting you :)

  • you have a good voice to catch a child rapist because it sound young.
