Roman discusses once again that Dekalb County Board of Directors needs to investigate and address the issue of completing jobs without permits and inspections, which is resulting in huge safety violations and endangers public. Additionally, government's ignorance allows violators to get away from paying large sums of money to the County and get away from any safety responsibilities. County recently laid off 62 inspectors due to lack of funding. These people would have been still employed with the county if local government enforce permits and inspections and punish violators with hefty fines. Roman also discussed that on 6-9-09 Dekalb County Commissioners with their leader CEO W. Burrell Ellis, Jr. failed to allow 30 minutes for public comments. Instead only 15 minutes were allowed, but fraudulently 30 minutes limit was announced by the clerk. Additionally, instead of 10 speakers only 8 were allowed. Roman and Jane were first to signup, however not given an opportunity to speak. This appears to be an example of discrimination against minority that happens here in Dekalb County of Georgia, USA
