Was just reading this and thought it was so good I should share it. Sorry about low video/audio quality.
From ABC of Anarchism, Chapter 2, Is Anarchism Violence?, by Alexander Berkman, written in 1929. He has been speaking about the idea that anarchy means violence, and he says it is not part of the idea of anarchy, but used because of individual temperaments, and he explains why.
Best bit: ". . . all of the institutions we support and the entire life of present society are based on violence."

I am thinking of doing a series of videos reading this book. If you're interested let me know.
@moggleful
Just because an institution is ultimately supported by the use or threat of violence doesn't mean one can have nothing to do with them. In fact, if it's all pervasive as anarchists suggest, then once can't help but do so. There is no hypocrisy, save that in you condemning another's positions whilst concealing your own.

The question one needs to ask is whether that authority is executed justly
You come across as plainly having an attitude problem against any form of authority be it just or not
Lets take intellectual authority.., if someone is studied you respect it.., if you think you can excel faster without said persons influence feel free to go it alone. Just dont cry when you had the opportunity to learn and later become subject to intellectual battery!
Authority exists.., deal with it!

Is You tube based on violence? Is Google? Interesting that you use them as your soap box, using their very technology to relay your message that it is evil and your stance against it. seriously, what the fuck???? Can you be more hypocritical?
FOR ALL YOU READING THIS ACROSS THE INTERNETS ~ THE INTERNETS ARE EVIL DO NOT USE THEM, AS I AM AGAINST THEM AND DEDICATED MY LIFE TO HATING THEM ~ AND WILL CONTINUE TO USE THE INTERNETS TO RELAY THIS MSG, TO ALL WHO WILL LISTEN... lol

I have to totally disagree with the references to divine authority. If a person jumps off a cliff in a stupid attempt to fly, one might say "In his pride, he thought to fly, but God, in his wrath, siezed him (via gravity) and hurled him on the rocks below". That is not 'wrong', since the working of gravity and the rocks are God's will. But everybody describes the matter in terms of natural consequences. The spiritual divine order really works similarly, rather than by an arbitrary 'authority'.
