The European Sixties...
BOBBY SOLO (born Roberto Satti 18 March 1945) is an Italian singer and musician.
Solo was born in Rome.
In 1964, he participated in the Sanremo Music Festival with the song "Una lacrima sul viso" ("A Tear on your Face"), but he was disqualified for singing with playback which was contrary to the festival regulations. The song, however, became a global hit. It was the first record to sell over one million copies in Italy, and global sales exceeded three million. It was awarded a gold disc. In the following year Solo won in the festival with the song "Se piangi, se ridi". He participated with the same song in the Eurovision Song Contest and finished in fifth place.
Again in 1969 Solo participated in the Sanremo Festival, with the song "Zingara", together with Iva Zanicchi. His last participation in the festival was in 2003 (together with Little Tony), singing "Non si cresce mai". (from Wikipedia)

Da una lacrima sul viso
Ho capito molte cose
Dopo tanti, tanti mesi ora so
Cosa sono per te.
Uno sguardo ed un sorriso
M'han svelato il tuo segreto
Che sei stata innamorata di me
Ed ancora lo sei.
Non ho mai capito
Non sapevo che
Che tu che tu
Tu mi amavi ma
Come me
Non trovavi mai
Il coraggio di dirlo, ma poi...
Quella lacrima sul viso
É un miracolo d'amore
Che si avvera in questo istante per me
E non amo che te
English translation: [A Tear on your Face]

From one tear on your face
I understood so many things
After so many months, now I know
What I mean to you.
A glance and a smile
Revealed to me your secret
That you were in love with me
And you still are.
I have never understood
I didn't know
That you, you
Were loving me, but
You'll never find
Another one like me
With the courage to say it, and then...
That tear on your face
It's a miracle of love
Which now comes true for me,
And I love no one but you
