Agent mahone was chasing this guy called oscar shales and he kept on missing him, and along the way oscar was killing people and mahone thought that its his responsibility because he kept on loosing the guy like oscar was 1 step ahead of mahone and mahone fianlly caught him and killed him and buried him in this backyard. He couldnt sleep he had nightmares and he was stressed, shaking etc... and those pills keep him in the game. Hope this helps.
