Here I am demonstrating a Series 1 XBee used as a wireless sensor. I hacked an old joystick to work with an ADC and connected all the axis and buttons to the XBee. Then, I used an Arduino with an XBee shield to parse the sensor data and turn it into a PWM for servos.

Finally, I threw the stackup onto my RC boat, Das Boot, and drove around on a basketball court. Enjoy!

  • If you could channel more air underneath it would go a lot faster and further per charge. Way too much floor drag. I realize it is a boat, but it would be cool if it could get into more "ground effect". Or just make a simple cart with three wheels - (one with a swivel) and drop it on the cart....

  • @OregonDARRYL I changed the motor, prop, and battery, and this thing will probably outrun anything I could build for $30 worth of stuff.
