Le marginal is an 1983 French movie about a tough cop who breaks all the rules to get his criminals! Anyhoo, it has a pretty cool car chase scene in it - and there's not a note of music over the whole thing.
Could be any number of reasons, no time to score a 4 minute car scene after shooting, or they didn't feel it needed any music at all. The film has some funky music by none other than the great Ennio Morricone.
Works with or without I guess, but it meant I had the perfect opportunity for an exercise in scoring a cool chase scene and keep the sound FX intact.
For the most part I kept it straightforward - and I kept it orchestral, instead of 'funky' :-). A four minute action scene is not easy to maintain - you need to keep hitting the cues, and keep it moving.
@godessd It sure does. I bet they don't make them like that any more.
