Quickly showing my homemade 900mhz groudplane antenna.

This antenna only uses $4 in parts to assemble!

You need a SO-239 that would mount on the rear chassis of a radio.

Then a coat hanger cut into 5qty 3" pieces.

Solder 4 at right angles off the SO-239 connector and insert one into the the place you center conductor goes. BOOM!

There you have it! The KD4YDD 900mhz groundplane

  • nice one but i have a question can i used this with my iden phone i have a motorola i355 that has walkie talkie features and it uses a 902- 928 megahertz frequency.. or do you know any other style a diy omni directional antenna for this types of application? thank you

    

  • @kundiman082 hey! So this antenna is cut for 902, the low end of the band, but receives well at 927. Should work fine for you. =)

  • i have thought about getting into the 900mhz band, but never saw any radios.

    until i found out that commercial radios in that band can be found for cheap. dirt cheap, almost free. fucking nuts.

    when i got my ticket i jumped in to 2 meter. should have jumped into 440, lot more activity here in that band.
