from what I know, noctilucent clouds are made of ice and possibly meteor dust from meteors that are on the edge of space. noctilucent clouds reflect light as a result of ice and dust. these clouds show up 30 minutes to one hour after sunset or before sunrise in the same areas auroras are seen.

What 'stuff' the clouds need to reflect light like that?
