And this is what I have achieved by cheating :P Not, not cheating, really. The thing is that I let the user select where the point he wants is in every picture, so there's no need for optical flow (which was not very accurate). Also, since we know where the point is in every picture, we don't need any heuristics for the distance: we KNOW the distances (since we can calculate the motion vectors).

The challenge was, of course, to synchronize this with the audio, to ensure it is smooth (the post-smoothing process is quite noticeable) and to record myself XD For that I created a program in MATLAB that takes a photo with the webcam every once per second or so (it's not precise, I didn't have time to learn to do it the proper way).

At least the song is fun :)
