The 2009 Expos Tour of Redlands, California included games against:
1x Oakland City All Star team
3x Northview High School (Covina)
5x Redlands 909ers
Each and every year since, the Redlands players and host families have responded with the enthusiasm, sportsmanship and hospitality that have made the City of Redlands the "sanctuary" of the Australia Expos annual American Baseball Tour. All Expos tours work their itinerary around the visit to Redlands. Redlands, California has reciprocated with two baseball tours of Australia, one in 1994 (the Redlands Quakes, managed by Chris McPeck), and another in 2005 (the Redlands Nine-O-Niners, managed by Brad Hotchner). The 1994 tour included stays in Sydney, Brisbane and the Redlands Shire, and Gold Coast. The 2005 tour included stays in Sydney, Alice Springs and Brisbane and the Redlands Shire. Jim MacMillan, Sue MacMillan and Steve Chapman coordinated the 1994 tour, and Sue MacMillan and Steve Chapman coordinated the 2005/06 tour.
Throughout the past 20 years the Australian Baseball Tour of Redlands has witnessed some outstanding international goodwill competition. There have been several players from both the Australia Expos and Redlands host team rosters who have gone on to pursue successful college and professional baseball careers. In all the games played over the past 19 tours, there has been only one no-hitter. That gem was thrown by the Expos Adam (Batts) Battaglene, who had an exceptional professional baseball career in Australia, most recently with the Queensland Rams in 2005.
Former Australia Expos Players Who Have Signed Professional Baseball Contracts: * TRENT DURRINGTON (ANGELS) * PHIL STOCKMAN (DIAMONDBACKS) * TRISTAIN CRAWFORD (TWINS) * MATTY HAYNES (INDIANS) * RICKY PAEWAI (PADRES) * DAVID HYSLOP (CUBS) * JOEL NAUGHTON (PHILLIES) * JAMES ALBURY (RED SOX) * JUSTIN ERASMUS (RED SOX))
