"Why do I want version 1.0?":

1. It's the original version of the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time that was released in 1998 in the Collector's Edition Gold Cartridge for the 64.

2. It has all the original content that the later versions do not (red blood, original soundtrack, original mirror shield and block designs, etc).

3. It's the best version of OoT for glitching and speedrunning.


This WAD was injected by me, aleckermit. I was the first person to successfully inject the version 1.0 ROM of OoT into a WAD with perfect results (back in early 2008? I think). Injecting it into the regular OoT WAD doesn't work correctly, it will remain the 1.2 VC version for some reason. After a few hours of trying different methods I finally found one that allowed it to be version 1.0 after injecting.

Q: So this isn't region limited right, what is the framerate?
A: Yes, it will play on any in the world. It runs at NTSC speed (29.97 fps) and at 60hz. NOTE: Many PAL users have said that this WAD runs at a slow refresh rate for them, in that case you will have to download "AnyRegion Changer" which allows you to change the region to USA and NTSC, allowing you to play in full 60hz on your PAL Wii.

Q: Can this be installed side-by side with other OoT VC channels?
A: Yes

Q: Does it have a custom banner?
A: Yes! Both the channel and save icon have the image of the gold collector's edition N64 box.

Q: Was the ROM that was injected altered in any way?
A: NO. This is a straight-up, version 1.0 OoT ROM injection. No altering was done to the ROM. You will be playing the exact version 1.0 Gold Cartridge Collector's Edition that was released in 1998 for the N64.

It will not, it will install alongside the standard OoT. Same with the save file.

Yeah you're not the first PAL user to say that. It seems to be an issue for PAL users only.

The chanting music should've been used for the Shadow temple and bottom of the well music instead of the fire temple

I normally get the PAL LoZ off Wii Channel, thus when I switch off from a more recent game (with 30 fps framerate) I pretty glare at the low FPS game until I get used to it. =I And when I change back to the better FPS game I am like "HOLY SHITT SINCE WHEN WAS THE GAME SO FUCKING SMOOTH?!?!?"

I have a Wii updated to 4.3U, and this wad installed on it, but when I put my New Super Mario Bros. Wii. He asks for an update...

I had the regular gray cartdrige, had the original mirror shield design and the original fire temple theme, but Ganon's blood was green and the swordless Link glitch wasn't possible (yes, I tried it haha) guess I was lucky to get a copy that kept some original stuff, the cut version is just not the same :c

SO intresting XD I was trying figure out what version I had and I have v 1.2 for shure which sucks...I'd love to she what glitched up shit the original could of had to offer ... :)
