SL ST - Slip Stitch
DC - Double Crochet
EA - Each
LP - Loop
SC - Single Crochet
SK- Skip

V-Stitch = DC, CH 2, DC

Materials
Size H or 5mm Crochet Hook
4-ply Yarn

Chain 4, join.

Round 1: CH 3, 2 DC through CH loop. *Chain 2, 3 DC, complete 3 times total from *, CH 1, SC in beginning chain to join.

Round 2: CH 3, 1 DC in same CH space. 1 DC in ea of the next 3 DC, *2 DC, CH 2, 2 DC in the next CH 2 SP. 1 DC in ea of the next 3 DC, Complete 3 times total from *, 2 DC in beginning CH, CH 1, SC in beginning chain to join.

Round 3: CH 3, 1 DC in same CH space. *1 DC in the next DC, CH 1, SK a ST, 1 DC in next DC, CH 1,SK a ST, 1 DC in next DC, CH 1,SK a ST, 1 DC in next DC, In the next CH 2 SP, 2 DC, CH 2, 2 DC, Complete 3 times total from *. 1 DC in the next DC, CH 1,SK a ST, 1 DC in next DC, CH 1,SK a ST, 1 DC in next DC, CH 1,SK a ST, 1 DC in next DC, In the next CH 2 SP, 2 DC, CH1, SC in beginning chain to join.

Round 4: CH 3, 1 DC in same CH space.*SK 2 DC, V-Stitch in each of the next 4 DC, SK 2 DC, 2 DC, CH 2, 2 DC in the next CH 2 SP. Complete 3 times from *. SK 2 DC, V-Stitch in each of the next 4 DC, SK 2 DC, 2 DC in the beginning CH 2 SP, Ch 1, SC in beginning CH 3.

Round 5: CH 2, HDC in same CH 2 SP. *1 HDC in ea DC and CH 1 SP, (16 HDC total) 2 HDC, CH 2, 2 HDC in the next CH 2 SP, Complete 3 times total from *. 1 HDC in ea DC and CH 1 SP, (16 HDC total), 2 HDC in the beginning CH 2 SP. Ch 2, join. Cut off the yarn and sew in the tail.

when i made the sunrise granny square someone told me it wasnt a granny square and that i should double crochet 3 times and then chain 2 then double crochet 3 more times in the corner does that mean i done the square wrong

@mobradovic00 You can continue to work rounds of double crochet to make it larger or you can make several squares and sew them together.
