Romance fans, grab your popcorn and tissues, because this September will bring us Bright Star, a romance set firmly in history, both written and directed by Jane Campion.

Bright Star is a dramatization of the true-life three year romance between one of the great poets of the 1800s, John Keats, and his beloved, Fanny Brawne. It might well have gone the distance had Keats not died young at the age of twenty five. Check out the trailer!

It's clear that romance buffs will be all over this one like no tomorrow, but will anyone else go in for it? Can it manage to find a broader appeal or will this one sink at the box office? Hit the comments section below to tell us if you're writing Bright Star a love letter. Thanks for watching!

Bright Star Cast: Abbie Cornish, Thomas Sangster, Ben Whishaw, Paul Schneider, Samuel Barnett, Kerry Fox, Roger Ashton-Griffiths

  • I only wished we were butterflies and lived but three summer days, three such days with you I could fill with more delight than 50 common years could ever contain.

  • That 'butterfly' quote was soooo beautiful!

  • I enjoyed the film. I'm not usually one for romance movies but I'm reading up on Keats at the moment so I thought I'd give it a go. Brilliant acting from Abbie Cornish, especially when she breaks down after hearing of Keats' death. I thought reading the poem out at the end with the music in the background was a bad idea though. It just didn't seem right.

  • @1903sch sadly there isn't many relationships nowadays that act so beautiful and sweet as john did with fanny..there are some, but not alot. it truely is sad. im sensitive to lol...im in love with a boy now actually. been together for about 2 years, no break ups or fights ever...and he even reads some of john keats poems to me :3<3 so im hoping we can be like one of the many few couples that still show pure love existing...this movie was amazing ^^ u should see it if u havent already :3
