Yah Nintendo wasn't too bright, they released Megaman 6 and Startropics 2 when the SNES was the next great thing and gaining huge popularity...to boost sales for a dying system was a dumb idea...It didn't really help the top loading NES's anyway, those things are still hella rare. If I knew that Ebay would exist in 10 years from when it was released I would have bought a Top Loading NES but instead bought a SNES with my paper route cash.

The reason why they released it for the NES is to help sell the top-loading NES, along with Mega Man 6 and Wario's Woods.

Because of story and it was on nes, like nes game in -94, what the hell they where thinking, it should be snes game, and because ST2 didnt sell that well, so nintendo never made St3 >:(

It's mostly because ST1 was such a great game, and they expected basically the same game again. I like ST1 better, but there's nothing wrong with this game. In fact, if you check my channel, you'll find videos of both games.
