Ion Music's Guitar Apprentice was by far the most fun tech I saw at the 2012 CES. Not only is it coming this year, but it is actually fun. Honestly whether you get this to just have fun or learn to play guitar, it doesn't matter, it is fun.

Andy Kyte, a product developer kindly demonstrated the Guitar Apprentice for me at the 2012 CES. There will be a big difference between this demo version and the released product in the area of software. Andy assured me that the released version will have a cooler, proprietary software package that will allow more flexibility in how the strings are played and set up. The demo was using Guitar Hero and even then it sound awesome.
As a guitar player I want one!
