UFO Sighting In Swansea :)

It may sound like something from the X-Files - but UFOs have been spotted flying over Swansea Bay.

In a mystery perhaps only Mulder and Scully could get to the bottom of, four floating bright lights were spotted over Mumbles on Sunday night.

And Evening Post readers have been given the opportunity to decide for themselves what the mysterious lights might be after photographer Phil Rees took these pictures and video footage.

He said: "My brother in law spotted it first of all. We were walking down Park Street in Mumbles when we saw it. We saw the light going across the sky, but I don't know what it was."

After Mr Rees returned home he kept an eye out and moments later three lights returned in the night sky.

He said: "I went home to Church Park, looked out of my window and saw them coming over again.

"I thought they might land in the sea but then they rose back up again.

"They went off in the direction of the pier and on towards Port Talbot. I really haven't a clue what it was.

"I did see it with my own two eyes and it wasn't just me. My brother in law and my wife saw it too.

"They weren't going very quickly.

"They were just floating along about 100 metres apart."

Swansea is no stranger to suspected extra-terrestrial activity.

Earlier this month details released under the Freedom of Information Act revealed that five UFO sightings have been reported in the city and across South Wales over the past decade.

On bonfire night 2007 the same thing happened 2 lights heading towards port talbot, hundreds of people on the beach just confused! but i wouldn't be surprised if they were chinese lanterns.

@HOLLYWOODSMIKEDUP A UFO is seen somewhere in the world every 3 minutes, and they're just the reported ones. What you mean is u think nobody has actually seen an alien craft!

in january this year 2010 i was fishing at nab rock in the mumbles, the time was about 11.15 in morning whilst looking up at my rod tip i was observing planes from cardiff and the odd helicopter,then a bright object cought my eye and i observed this for about 25 mins as it moved slow across the sky,then it turned and flew towards me but was still at distance out of focus then it stoped right above me and stayed ther for about 5 mins then started to move away behind me ,

@HOLLYWOODSMIKEDUP a chinese lantern is a thing u can make or bye its a paper circle shape and it has a ball in the middle where u set light to it / fire then u put it 2 the air then it goes flying up and up

we saw a sighting at 11.10pm on friday 4/6/2010, a stationary bright glowing orange light high in the atmosphere then after a few moments at disappeared ...this was definitely not a lantern.....
