This will clear things up for some people.
I went to school there, and was "apart" of the percussion section (I just saw it back and didnt play a thing for concerts) But anyway, the timpani mallet broke and went through his cheek. I dont think all the way through, but enough to get stuck.
He left the concert with the mallet still in his cheek and got like 2 or 3 stitches.

The drumsticks breaks at 0:09 - 0:10 and hits his eye, he does not seem to feel any pain though, he seems more pissed at his broken stick and the fact that it's pierced through his eye...must've been a relative of Chuck Norris...
