i am not an Indian and have never been to Batu Caves on Thaipusam but I remember seeing pictures of past years showing the temple was packed to its fullest, people were squeezing each other and almost unable to move but this year, we could even see the road from the top.
My friend who is staying near a Hindu temple in Port Klang told me this temple received unusually high turnouts of devotees this year. They opted not to go to Batu Caves but to other temples

we expected even really less crowd..but then... some time tamilanukku puriya vaika kastam... ini intha inathe antha BATU MALAI MURUGAN than kaapaathanum... Vadivel muruganukku arogara!!

People rule. I posted travel warning here in my town in USA. I am sure not many tourists traveled to Malaysia either for Thaipusam.
Thank you to my fellow Indians... may this teach mic rascals we are still in control. Time has come for mic to take an exit. Vote Parti Keadilan Rakyat PKR. I made a vow that if PKR comes to power, I'll travel to Malaysia and take kavadi for 2009 Thaipusam.
