The Movement Centre of Manitoba is a registered charity that helps to improve the lives of children and adults with mobility disorders such as cerebral palsy, stroke, brain injury, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson's disease. It is the only facility in Manitoba that provides conductive education programs. This video is a slightly shorter version of the original video. Please visit our website at www.movementcentre.ca
It was written and produced by Nancy Gregory of Media 1 Productions.

  • My son with severe spastic quad CP is nonverbal, he is now a teenager, he was in Conductive Ed was 3, he had 5 years of CE. It helped him so much, he still benefits from it today. Unfortunately the program ended where he lives. CE works! Wish we still have it here. He had never been to this center before, but the concepts of CE really improve his receptive skill, cognitive thinking, gross/fine motor movements to become a functional person.

  • I used to work there, briefly, too. I left to go back to callege, but you're right. The kids were just phenominal. So much holding them back, but so much determination. I can't watch this viceo now, but I will when I get home, to a stronger Internet Connection!

  • I am actually watching this vid before i go to class. I'm a volunteer conductor's assistant at one of the 5-week "boot camps" over the summer. I am personally enjoying helping the kids, and seein them progress. Even though some of the kids arn't much younger than me (i'm 17) I still enjoy doing as much as i can to help these kids do the tasks that most people don't even think about like rolling over, or sitting up etc..

  • I used to work at the center.

  • We have been to the Centre and the video is very accurate. They give these children a future.
