The ending was brilliant. Haggis said what you asking for is gonna cost your soul, then you'll pay the ultimate price. When pumpkinhead blazed up in fire, did that final squeal. I think that was a way to inform the audience that that was really Ed Hurley soul been taking to hell. Do to the fact he was that monster he created and ask for.
