I have been to Prudhoe Bay. Was working for Conoco. Was there in December once for the coldest month of my life.
The next time I was there I was lucky enough to see a polar bear at the mouth of the Kavik River about 25 minutes away. Flew around with "Kermit" from Alaska Air Taxi in a Sesna to do some surveying for USGS. Grizzlies, caribou, moose and wolves were often seen as well in the Kavik River area but more inland.

One of my work mates is Inupiat and he lives in barrow im hoping to go next year some time to see the polar bears

I work for Ch2mhill and ive been there about 4 months and i saw 2 grizzlies outside the back doors after only 2 days
no polar bears yet though :(

I did not see any bears while I was there however when I went on to Barrow I did see Polar Bears.
