March 20, 1982. The site is Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Wabash is coached by Mac Petty, who is retiring at the end of the 2010-11 season, having coached Wabash for 34 years. This game also features Pete Metzelaars who, in this his last collegiate basketball game, scored a career high 45 points in Wabash's 83-62 victory. A month later, Pete was drafted in the 3rd round by the Seattle Seahawks, and went on to play16 years in the NFL at tight end, mostly with the Buffalo Bills. He is now an assistant coach with the Indianapolis Colts.
Freshman Chris Denari got in the game at the end. He was a local Indianapolis sportscaster for many years, and still does Butler bball games on the radio. He also does the Indiana Pacers and Fever on FSN Indiana, as well as the Indy 500.
Color commentaror Irv Brown was one of the referees during the 1976 NCAA Championship game between the Indiana Hoosiers and the Michigan Wolverines. The 1976 Hoosiers were the last team to go undefeated.
