@gore53 See if the apostle or Jesus would have ever thought as you do then they would have never said anything such what is written in 1 Cor.15:11. You are trying to pit the scriptures against themsleves but Jesus said that a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand.

@gore53 See I do practice right division and I always want to learn more but I certainly don't recieve instruction from immoral people. In fact Paul said that they are to be put out of the church. (1 Cor.5:11)

@gore53 See Jesus' teaching are in fact applicable because 1. At the Mt. of transfiguration God decreed that He was to be listened to (Thus the disappearance of Moses (the law) and Elijah (the prophets)
and 2. The apostle John in his epistle said that we are not to go beyond the teachings of the Lord. So when Jesus gave instruction in Matthew 18 (which was later reiterated by Paul) it is true and binding.
