A homeless shelter is a perfect place to celebrate the birth of Christ. After all, the gospel story tells us that Jesus was born homeless and "in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn. (Luke 2:7, ESV) Later in his ministry Jesus says of himself, "the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head." (Luke 9:58, ESV)
Jesus counted himself among the homeless. It seems perfectly natural for us to do the same.
