This red velvet cake was made from the Cake Doctor Returns book. All of her cakes are unbelievable and taste homemade, but the best part is they start with a box mix. This is a guaranteed success for anyone from an incredible baker to the person whose never made a cake before. The box cake is the base and ingredients are added to it to make them extra tender. This yellow, butter box cake had some simple additions like vinegar, buttermilk, baking soda, cocoa powder and red food coloring. The cream cheese frosting was two 1/3 fat free cream cheese, butter, confectioners sugar and vanilla. We made a double recipe for the frosting just to make sure there was enough for a skim coat to bury any loose crumbs and then a finishing coat!
I think i got a problem this vid turned me on?

@stargate905 Probably more red food coloring or less cocoa. Also, make sure you're not over-baking it.

@stargate905 to make it a lot redder you'd have to use a lot more food coloring or beet juice
