Hi, Could you please tell me how I can get tested for this?...I am 40 and I still don't have my GED because I just can't understand math. I have failed it over 4 times, and I haven't been able to understand math my whole life, I just DON"T understand it. I would greatly appreciate any helpful info you may be able to provide, thank you for your time, Kevin
I so understand im right there with you i have the same trouble i have the same trouble i thought i was alone in this Discalculia, and dyslexia and dysgraphia stuff thank you very much it seems things that learning how to cope with all our problems keep up the good work and thanks for sharing
One of the most embarrassing situations I've experienced as a result of this is when I changed my primary care doctor, they asked me my SSN over the phone and not only did it take me 5 minutes to figure it out, ( I pretended someone was talking to me while I frantically searched for the card) I said it wrong and reversed two numbers. The insurance company called and complained. It was humiliating.
I have not been diagnosed with this, but there is no doubt in my mind that this is whatg I have
i am almost 100% sure that i have dyscalculia. I'm scared to bring it up to my parents because i feel like they wont believe me. I want to go take a test to see if i have it or not. Thanks for posting this! I match pretty much all the symptoms. It was very helpful. When and how did you find out when you had dyscalculia?
I know exactly what you mean, I often struggle when counting basic math in my head. If I get told a number of some sort I may remember it but just not in the correct order.
When I was in school and needed some help with maths the teacher would just look at me as if I was dumb lol, I was fine in all my other classes except maths. People should be more aware of Dyscalculia, the word needs to be spread.
