This video shows the Corpse Flower opening through time-lapse photography. The Corpse Flower was on display at Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park in Springfield, MO during March of 2010. The video was shot with time-lapse still photos over a period of several days and was put together with the soundtrack by Friends of the Garden member TA White.
The 35-pound tropical tuber brought to Springfield by Friends of the Garden member and primary garden designer William Roston was on view each day in the community meeting room in Nathanael Greene Park. The plant was affectionately nicknamed "Audrey." The flower finally bloomed March 6th and 7th. Hundreds of visitors got to see and smell the flower, renowned for its stench.
What a bummer, it didn't open up all the way.
