Restauro Novachord Parte 2

Questo video segue l' Anteprima presentazione restauro Novachord - parte 1, dove si può vedere una breve presentazione dello strumento, la sua storia ed il mio restauro. In questa seconda parte qualche mia improvvisazione alla tastiera dimostra invece i vari suoni ottenibili dallo strumento a seconda della posizione dei vari regolatori.

In this movie you can see a brief introduction of the Hammond Novachord, its story and the restoration of my instrument. Then, some my improvisations at the keyboard show the sound of the instrument depending on the position of the register knobs.

@synsei1 Oh yes! You're right, especially for my spine... this is a work that should be made by two persons together, one at the right side and another one at the left side. The Novachord generator is really very heavy, unfortunately I'm always alone when I must do these works!

What a great job of keeping an important part of musical history alive and well. It's amazing that Hammond and all were able to create such a machine in the VERY early days of electronics. You are clever to update the cimponents and yet retain the look design of the original. Bravo!

Put it quite simply, this is the finest Novachord restoration in the world. The amount of sheer love care and attention that has gone into this is truly staggering.

This fellow is a great friend of mine and owns probably the best Novachord here in Europe. Often in these past years we put together our efforts for making our two great beasts in good form. I think that his Novachord is the sole one in the world that play well without the whole replacement of all the components of the instrument!

The hardest piece of literature to find for the Novachord is "Hammond Novachord: A manual for the Service Technician."

I'm in the process of acquiring a Novachord, and I'm asking for any help locating the manuals,

service information or any literature related to it. Mine is a high 300 serial number, which probably will date it to 1938-'39. Congratulations on your fine work of saving this rare and lovely instrument, and I can only hope mine can play this well one fine day!
