Watch the video again - he didn't say the triple Axel is easier - he explained that Yu-na's Triple Luts + Triple Toe are total 6 rotations whereas Mao's Combintion is Triple Axel + Double Toe which results 5.5 rotation and that's why yuna's combination jumps get more points- Yu-na's 3+3 combo is not easy if it was Mao and other players also have tried that too

Calling the best is not a bias. It doesn't have to be balanced with others. This best is simply the best. That's it. He knows more than us about Yuna and skating. The more you know about Yuna like Scott, I believe, the more you agree with him.

@MsMichigan, you should provide valid reasons why yuna's score is invalid before criticizing him and his comments. The logic that yuna's score is invalid because her score is so high does not make sense at all, and insisting that this is merely a power play is such a childish argument. I don't get how some people can ignore all the grades and videos that are out as evidences supporting her scores. And those you called "pure" figure skaters seem to feel no obligation from changing the ruled arou

Then what do you think the reason of his biased comments here and in other interviews? i just can not deny my feeling of suspicion. He looked like trying to cover up and convince people that Yuna's huge score is valid. Please don't misunderstand that I'm not bashing Yuna. I just can't stand seeing the power play

Yes, it is quite obvious that Scott is HUGE fan of Yuna

But when he doesn't compare Mao and YuNa, he is quite fond of Mao's performance - In fact, in his NBC Commentary of the Mao's olympic performance, he shouts out of genuine joy when she succeeds the triple axels in a row.

I’m sorry I lost my control after watching the video. I just didn’t like the way Scott Hamilton reviewing the Olympics. If he wants to be called as a specialist he needs to be neutral and reasonable, also needs to have understanding the impact of big media.

He sounded like a billboard of Yuna as of he was well paid from someone for that.

Do you recognize that Meredith looked a little irritated by the end of the interview?

Just like in piano competition, you can't expect to win just because you played a music that requires the most difficult technic - it is more about HOW you excute them, how beautifully you play them, rather than WHAT you play. But still, Judges will credit the fact that you tried the techically demanding task, but in the end, what matters the most is the artisty of the whole piece- Figure skating isn't just about technic, it is more about art -

ISU does NOT give higher score to easier jumps - Mao's Triple Axel has higher base point than any other triple jumps- Mao got extra 1.5 points for each triple Axel she succeeded But Mao's GOE (grade of execution) for the jump was LOW that's why total points is much lower than YuNa's jumps - YuNa's triple jumps had lower base points compare to the Axel but she's done it with the such perfection and ease which gathered tons of the extra GOE scores- that's why she got such a high total score -

The problem is that ISU give higher score to easier jumps right? Or doesn't appreciate the courage of players who try higher achievement right?

The problem is that the expert using unreasonable logic, try to convince people this scoring system is fair.
