quick question, so you seem to know a lot about photoshop, and i was wondering how would i replace a ball in a picture with another orb, but still have the irregularities such as the fingers clutching the ball remain intact, without having the new ball cover them?

you basically just hand made a drop shadow.. why not just do, the car layer, right click, blending options. and give it a drop shadow.. ?

a layer shadow is not realistic as some parts like the underside would be darker in real life.

Use the magnetic lasoo tool on the toolbar, click around the object then CTRL-C to copy it, go to a new pic, then CTRL-V to paste it, I will do an example of this soon.
