@MrNatwill2 Oh yeah Triad! Lol! Apparently that was a BIG source of contention within the band because of the lyrical nature involved. Very innocent by today's standards but back then it was a problem that hastened him leaving the Byrds. Jefferson Airplane does a great cover version of this tune, not sure if you knew that and I think it is here on Youtube. The bass thing to be honest I don't think I've noticed but I'll certainly give it another listen and see what I hear. Interesting! Thanks!
@MrNatwill2 Yeah my 2 favorite originals by them are both David Crosby songs, "Why" and "Lady Friend". You never hear them on the radio I'm sorry to say but they give you a good idea of where David was going with his music and how it really came together with Steven, Graham, and Neil.
Wow... I forgot about this song. I think I still have this vinyl around somewhere.

@cudaj2 No, I haven't heard those songs, but by the time you read this I will have heard both of them. Ever heard Triad?
P.S. at 1:12 of this song, do you hear an inapproprate bass note played three times?

@cudaj2 They did do a lot of Dylan, but did some great originals too. 8 miles high is my favorite.

@wildhias Not a cover band, an interpretation band, but I can understand what you're saying.

@SeymourSycamore Sounds like it comes from a sped-up tape--I have the CD, and it isn't this fast

it seems that the Byrds where at times nothing but a Dylan cover band
