Saw this truck going from all the way at the north end of Nanaimo to the very south, he rode my tail practically on my bumper as he pushed the pedal to the metal, then rode other people's bumpers too as he played tag on the Nanaimo Parkway, speeding 120 km/h in 90 zone, and every time he sped up that fast the air over the top of the recycling bin sucked cardboard boxes and cardboard sheets out of the bin, hitting windshields of cars behind. This video clip is just a short capture of the whole tour, and the truck left behind litter all over the highway, causing cars to swerve as the junk dropped onto the road, and in one case on the windshield of a car, and another stuck to the front of the hood of an SUV which had to pull over to take off the cardboard flattened box. Not only was he speeding, but obviously his load was not secured. Frankly he was lucky that the commercial vehicle inspector we saw earlier on the highway didn't see this. The front of the truck said it was number 318. As a commercial vehicle driver myself, I was appalled at this reckless lack of concern for safety of other drivers. Alpine should not be allowing this to happen, it's an embarrassment to the company. This was the end of his high speed run, it only captures him finally slowing down, yet there's still crap flying out of the back. Imagine how it was at 120 km/h just a few minutes before. A real mess.

  • his load was secure. if he hadent had the tarp ontop of the roll off container ( where the paper was spilling from) then it wouldnt have been secure

  • @lahluv This is just the tail end of his long journey of spilling paper and cardboard from the north end of Nanaimo to the south. We saw a car driver actually have to pull over and remove a large piece of cardboard from his windshield. A loose floppy tarp on a truck which was doing 30 over the speed limit and debris flying out onto all the cars behind this truck does not spell "secure". It was a bad scene, and a dangerous one. A cop would have pulled him over if there had been any around then.

  • I Disagree. He could have made extra effort to secure his load on any type of dumpster he uses. There is no excuse for this, and there are solutions out there to avoid these Dangerous scenarios and potential road traffic accidents.

  • @origamisteelboats thats true but maybe the company should use actual recycling dumpsters instead of regular roll off containes so the load dosent have to be tarped
